DESCRIPTION: Join the Madison Lawyer Chapter for a virtual program on Forced Arbitration and the Erosion of the Seventh Amendment. In the past ten years, mandatory arbitration agreements have infiltrated nearly every aspect of American society. From consumer products and services to employment agreements to nursing home contracts, citizens are being forced from the courtroom to a secretive process with little oversight. This program that will examine the origins and recent interpretations of the Federal Arbitration Act (FAA), class arbitration, and mass individual arbitrations. Panelists will also discuss practical differences between trial and arbitration, and provide a defense perspective on the arbitration process. Finally, the panelists will discuss proposed legislation to ban forced arbitration in certain contexts.\n&nbsp; \nFeaturing:\n&nbsp; \nEric L.
