Susan Segal, Judge, Minnesota Court of Appeals\n \n\nOn October 8, 2019, Governor Tim Walz announced the appointment of Susan Segal as a judge for the Minnesota Court of Appeals for the seat designated for the Fifth Congressional District. Judge Segal brings her diverse and impressive legal background to her role on the bench. Before her appointment, Judge Segal served as the Minneapolis City Attorney, where she was responsible for the legal work of the City, with a sharp focus on criminal justice reform. Her responsibilities for the City included, among many more, managing all litigation involving the city, its board, and commissions; managing criminal prosecutions for certain crimes, totaling over 15,000 cases per year; and managing an office of 110 employees. Previously, Judge Segal established her own law firm, Susan Segal PLLC, focusing on employment law.
