DESCRIPTION: Join the ACS Washington, DC Lawyer Chapter and the Communications Workers of America (CWA) for a “state of the union” panel discussion on the past, present, and future of the U.S. labor movement.&nbsp;\n\nThe panelists will assess the current position of the labor movement, how it got here, and where it is going next.&nbsp;In particular, they will review the intersection of courts, federal agencies, and the first amendment and the policy obstacles and opportunities related to organized labor. They will also discuss the reasons for workers and labor unions to be optimistic in today's era.\n\nCWA is an international labor organization representing more than 700,000 workers in the telecommunications, broadcasting, journalism, and airline industries, among others.
