DESCRIPTION: For nearly 50 years, the Supreme Court recognized and protected the right to abortion under the 14th Amendment’s right to liberty. On June 24, 2022, in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the Court overruled Roe v. Wade, eliminating—for the first time—a fundamental constitutional right. On this Roe Day, we will feature two reproductive rights attorneys from the Center for Reproductive Rights, Jenny Ma, Senior Counsel, and Hillary Schneller, Senior Staff Attorney. Jenny and Hillary were counsel for the last abortion clinic in Mississippi in Dobbs before the Supreme Court. They are also both New York practitioners working on high impact justice issues.
