Join the South Florida ACS Lawyer Chapter and the FIU and University of Miami ACS Student Chapters for a conversation exploring the work of trial lawyers, the importance of civil justice work, and its potential to positively shift the balance towards justice.
Featuring:
Rachel Wagner Furst, Partner, Maderal Byrne & Furst PLLC. Rachel litigates class actions, and individual claims of personal injury, deceptive consumer practices and product liability, at her Coral Gables firm Maderal Byrne & Furst. She has taken a leading role in high-profile class actions and multi-district litigation, including serving as Co-Chair Lead Counsel of the Champlain Towers South Collapse Litigation, in Florida Circuit Court, which resulted in a record-setting $1.2 billion settlement.
Chris Lomax, Managing Attorney at Lomax Legal; Adjunct Professor at University of Miami School of Law. Chris dedicates his practice to solving problems and securing justice for a variety of clients. Chris began his career with the United States Department of Justice, Civil Rights Division, and later worked as a litigator at one of the largest law firms in the world. He currently serves as the Managing Attorney at Lomax Legal PLLC, a firm he founded in 2021.
Faudlin Pierre, Attorney, Pierre Simon. Faudlin has devoted his legal career to championing civil rights, safeguarding civil liberties, and staunchly opposing government overreach. His portfolio of work encompasses critical issues such as police reform, the removal of Confederate statues, and a wide array of other causes aimed at fostering justice and equality.
