Bright is the director of the Southern Center for Human Rights, and he will discuss discusses his work in the areas of capital punishment, counsel for poor people accused of crimes, racial discrimination in the criminal legal system and his new book (with co-author James Kwak), The Fear of Too Much Justice: Race, Poverty, and the Persistence of Inequality in the Criminal Courts (2023).
