Event Details

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change recently warned, with “very high confidence,” that “There is a rapidly closing window of opportunity to secure a livable and sustainable future for all.” Climate change poses a dire challenge to the planet, and in recent years, both the state and federal government have undertaken significant steps to reduce carbon emissions. This panel will discuss the latest on what’s gone well in the fight against climate change, and what challenges we still need to overcome – from electrifying everything, to giving our buildings an eco-friendly overhaul, to deploying clean energy, and more.

Featuring:

Matthew Eisenson, Renewable Energy Legal Defense Initiative Fellow at Columbia Law School’s Sabin Center for Climate Change Law

Ben Furnas, Executive Director of the The 2030 Project: A Cornell Climate Initiative, and the former Director of the New York City Mayor’s Office of Climate and Sustainability

Camille Pannu, Associate Clinical Professor of Law at Columbia Law School

Moderated by

Joel Dodge, Chair, ACS New York Lawyer Chapter
