Event Details

Police unions have been prominent forces as both obstacles to, and sometimes facilitators of, efforts to reform public safety provision and promote racial justice in America. Their voices shape dialogue and outcomes on issues ranging from discipline and qualified immunity to civilian oversight and body-worn cameras to representation, training, and culture. Join the ACS Madison, At-Large, Austin, Bay Area, Chicago, Washington DC, Minneapolis-St. Paul, NE Ohio, and Oregon Lawyer Chapters for a program exploring the tensions and opportunities at the intersection of two concepts that progressives care about deeply–the labor movement and racial justice reform–in the world of policing.
