Please join the ACS Michigan Chapter for a discussion on the continued lack of diversity in state court judgeships. We’ll discuss the updates since our panel on this issue in 2017, and what can be done to bring a greater variety of perspectives to the bench. The conversation will feature Judge Teri Lynn Dennings, the first Black judge appointed to the Macomb County Circuit Court, and State Representative Tenisha Yancey.
Featuring:
Hon. Teri Lynn Dennings, Judge, Macomb County 16th Judicial Circuit Court
Chantá Parker, Managing Director, Neighborhood Defender Service
Hon. Tenisha Yancey, Representative, Michigan House of Representatives, 1st House District
Moderated by:
Roeiah Epps Ward, Public Defender, Neighborhood Defender Service; Member, ACS Michigan Board of Directors; Next Generation Leader, American Constitution Society
