Event Details

As part of COVID-19 relief legislation, the federal government has greatly expanded the Child Tax Credit to pay out several hundred dollars per child to most American families every month this year. While most families are automatically receiving Child Tax Credit payments, some families -- such as those who aren't required to file taxes with the IRS -- must take active steps to sign up to receive these significant cash benefits.

Join the American Constitution Society -- New York and the Children's Defense Fund -- New York for a webinar which will provide the basics on the advance monthly Child Tax Credit, and walk participants through each step for how families can sign up. The program will also discuss the future of the Child Tax Credit and share outreach and advocacy resources. Additionally, participants will have an opportunity to ask questions.

Featuring:

Joel Dodge, Lecturer in Law, Columbia Law School; Co-Chair, ACS New York Lawyer Chapter
Melissa Genadri, Poverty and Health Policy Associate, Children's Defense Fund - New York
Ben Anderson, Director of Poverty and Health Policy, Children's Defense Fund - New York
