The Los Angeles Lawyer Chapter (LA LC) is seeking applicants for its Board of Directors and is comprised of the following positions:
- Co-Chair (x2)
- Co-Vice Chair (x2)
- Path to the Bench Chair
- Equity & Inclusion Chair
- Programming Chair
- External Communications Chair (Social Media)
- Constitution in the Classroom Chair
- Engagement Chair
- Student Chapter Liaison
- Members-at-Large
The LA LC Board of Directors is responsible for organizing all of the Chapter's activities, including programs and panels with guest speakers, happy hours, special events and programs (such as annual SCOTUS reviews, the Racial Justice and the Law panel series, the Path to the Bench Initiative, and Constitution in the Classroom program), fundraising, and coordination with ACS staff and student chapters at local law schools.
Board members must be active members of ACS (join here) and are expected to commit, on average, at least one hour a month. Duties include attendance at regular board meetings; fundraising; committee work; and planning, promoting, and attending Chapter events. We frequently collaborate with leading scholars, organizations, and institutions on our events and panels.
We especially welcome applicants from communities who are underrepresented in the legal community.
