Event Details

Please join the ACS Puget Sound Lawyer Chapter and our panelists, Kim Christensen Clark and Kathryn Kolbert, for a discussion about reproductive rights litigation.

Kim Christensen Clark is the Senior Attorney for Reproductive Rights, Health and Justice at Legal Voice, a legal advocacy organization in the Pacific Northwest that empowers women and LGBTQ people through impact litigation, policy advocacy and legal rights education. Kathryn Kolbert is a public-interest attorney, journalist, and entrepreneurial leader who has been recognized by The National Law Journal as one of the "100 Most Influential Lawyers in America." In 1992, Kolbert made her second appearance before the U.S. Supreme Court, arguing Planned Parenthood v. Casey, a landmark case that has been widely credited with saving Roe v. Wade.

Our panelists will speak about the current state of reproductive rights litigation in the United States, where it is going, where it needs to go, and what reproductive rights litigation has done wrong. They will also discuss how opposition to reproductive rights is intertwined with racism and gender oppression.
