Join the ACS New York Lawyer Chapter and PEN America to explore the prevalence of disinformation and false content about coronavirus and to learn tools to build better media literacy skills. Access to accurate information during the COVID-19 health crisis has never been more important for communities around the country, yet much of our online social media feeds is littered with false and misleading content about the virus. Join Nora Benavidez for a discussion on the ways false information is flooding our social media feeds and the difficulty we have in discerning veracity of information in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. We will also provide tips on how to develop healthy digital practices.

Featuring:

Nora Benavidez, Director, U.S. Free Expression Programs, PEN America; Executive Board Vice-Chair, ACS New York Lawyer Chapter
