Join the ACS Athens Lawyer Chapter, the ACS University of Georgia School of Law Student Chapter, the University of Georgia School of Law Black Law Students Association, and ATHFactor-Liberty for a discussion with Professor Andrea L. Dennis on her new co-authored book, Rap on Trial: Race, Lyrics, and Guilt in America.

Rap on Trial is “a groundbreaking exposé about the alarming use of rap lyrics as criminal evidence to convict and incarcerate young men of color,” and our discussion, in addition to Professor Dennis, will include members of the Athens hip hop community, local lawyers, law students, and criminal justice reform activists.

Featuring:

Andrea L. Dennis, John Byrd Martin Chair of Law, University of Georgia School of Law; Co-Author, Rap on Trial: Race, Lyrics, and Guilt in America

The event will begin with a social hour from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., followed by the discussion with the author from 6:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. There will be a cash bar.
