Join the Center for Justice and Accountability (CJA) and the ACS Bay Area Lawyer Chapter for a panel discussion on bringing perpetrators of international torture and extrajudicial killings to justice in U.S. federal courts.

The panel will focus on the recent high-profile trial of Col. Yusuf Abdi Ali (aka “Tukeh”), who was found liable for atrocities committed in the early 1990’s, during the Siad Barre dictatorship in Somali.

CJA attorneys—who have brought dozens of similar cases over the organization's 20-year history—will discuss the Tukeh trial, its impact on the Torture Victims Protection Act, and the use of U.S. federal courts to vindicate the human rights of survivors around the globe.
